Between NYFW and international star appearances at the Toronto Internal Film Festival (TIFF), posh people from the world over have given us good reason to be excited about what the rest of the month has in store. So today I chose to live life in vibrant color...
Ghanian designer Christi Brown teased us with a few pictures from her Spring 2016 line, and so far the pics are giving major bridal inspiration. What do you think?
Are you excited for the full release of the line? And doesn't this model look like Beyonce and Solange's middle sister? Till next post xoxo.
Lagos Fashion and Design Week concluded this past weekend and the collections shown have been making major rounds in the press. Vogue.com spotlighted its top five picks but I was dissappointed that the uber talented Mai Atafo wasn't mentioned...
Hello Everyone! Thank you for checking out part two of Siata's style:
Style is something that I've always possessed, even from a young age. Maybe it was the effect of my fabulous aunties whom I looked up to while growing up in Sierra Leone, or the pride my parents took in making sure I looked presentable as a young child. Either way, I find that style comes instinctively to me.
An ode to black and white.
Although the weather is still dreadful, lately I've been dreaming of spring and the African events that come along with it; Ankara Balls, Independence Dances and Celebrations, oh my! I've been brainstorming outfit ideas for the Green White and Blue Commission's Sierra Leone Independence Ball and I definitely want a look that's fashion-forward and African-made. In my search for the continent's best creations I found so many things that I've got a running list. So I wanted to share a few of the designers and shops that caught my eye:

Taibo Bacar of Mozambique is quickly becoming one of my fashion favorites. His dresses don't come cheap but the final product is nothing short of luxury. Well placed lace, detailed floral beadwork and elegant sheer panels are some of Mr. Bacar's hallmarks and right now I want to say yes to every single dress! I believe that his line only does custom work and they can be reached at sales.clientservice@taibobacar.com or whatsapp: 00258827029196.

I hope this post helps you find an African design that suits you fabulously for upcoming events this spring! Thanks for visiting.
My super smart and connected cousin Sudie invited me to an event focusing on African Fashion Merchandizing, where industry experts would be on-hand to discuss fashion design, manufacturing and compliance. Since the winter has been frigid this year, I "winterized" this short summer frock by adding knee boots, tights and a cropped coat.
