First of all let me thank the Lord that I’ve been blessed with the urge to blog again! And also thanks to all of my supportive family and friends who support my creative pursuits…
Now on to the point of today’s blog, I consider myself blessed with some of the most hilarious and wise girlfriends ever. It really can’t be luck at this point, only God can bless you to be directed to some of the best people in any room that you enter. Recently one of my good girlfriends reminded me of this life lesson, which is to “allow God to anoint your head with THE oil.” What do I mean by this, you might ask?
If you’re anything like me, you like happiness and peace. If a person disturbs my peace in any way, I’m avoiding them. I can handle conflict and I’m more than capable of standing up for myself, but I really don’t care enough about the opinions of others to fight them over it. If you don’t like me, more power to you, let me be going my way to a place where I am loved, lol. But recently, my girlfriend said to me, “oh Munje please,” when I enter a room, I always make sure to go and hug all of the girls who I know are fake friends or even haters.”
When I asked her why, she said, “don’t you remember the scripture that says God will prepare a table for you before your enemies, and that he will anoint your head with oiil” “Yes,” I replied, “and?” She then said, “well how can he prepare your table if you’re always running from your enemies, that’s why me I’m always greeting them like neighbors at church, ‘peace be with you, peace be with you,’ I want God to prepare my table right before their eyes.” I cackled.
My friend is as crazy as they come but her wisdom cannot be denied. Its impossible for you to avoid all of your enemies. In fact, some of your closest friends and family will allow jealously to enter their hearts and make enemies out of them. The good news is, you don’t have to expend any energy fighting them, avoiding them or even convincing them that their enmity is wrong, just keep calm and wait on God to anoint you with that oil!
